Walt Disney World Transportation
Travel the Highway in the Skys! The most popular way to get around.

Take to the seas!
Buses

When traveling by bus remember they run approximately every 20 minutes. When traveling between Walt Disney World Resort properties allow up to an hour and a half to reach your destination.

Water Launches

This is a great way to travel around Walt Disney World. It provides you with beautiful scenery and a relaxing trip. Be mindful of when the boats stop running. If you get caught out after they stop running it is difficult to get home easily.

Monorail

This is one of the most fun ways to travel around. The trains run every 15-20 minutes apart. It is always fun to just ride around the monorail loop. If you park at the TTC (Ticket & Transportation Center) then hop on the express monorail that takes you directly to the Magic Kingdom.

Vacation Money Saving Tips

*Take advantage of the Disney's Magical Express. This is a free service Walt Disney World provides. We used it and found it to be very easy. When you get off the plane go directly to ground transportation. There is a check-in station and then they put you in a line going to the appropriate Walt Disney World resort. Usually a bus will go to 2-4 resorts. Then later in the afternoon they will deliver your luggage to your room. Or if you would like to try other Orlando ground transportation services look below under helpful links.

*rent a car?. With gas prices they way they are why waste money on gas? Walt Disney World's transportation system is really smooth. You will have to wait for the transportation, however, you will have extra money that you can then use for shopping rather than using it for a rental car. They offer it why not use it.

*If you drive to Walt Disney World Parks you have the advantage of free parking at all of the theme parks. When you check-in at your resort you will be given a parking permit for your car and that is all you need.

Vacation Time Saving Tips
*Always walk if you can. We have found if your feet can stand it then walk it. For example, if you are staying at the Contemporary Resort you have the option of walking to the Magic Kingdom. It is a short walk about 10 minutes and it is much easier than waiting at the bus stop or for a monorail at the end of a long day. When staying at some of the EPCOT resorts (Boardwalk, Beach & Yacht Club) they also have walk ways into EPCOT and MGM. You will avoid crowds and this will save you time.
*When traveling during high volume periods (parade exits or park closings), be prepared for crowds. It is always advantageous to leave the park alittle bit early. You will have a much nicer ride home (since you will have a seat on the bus!).
*When you check-in at your Walt Disney World Resort they will give you a Handy Guide to all the magic in your packet. This will tell you how to get from your resort to each park and different resorts. Take this along with you so you always know how to get around. There is usually more than one way to get to a park so always make sure where you are going. The concierge desk can help as well.
*If you are traveling with strollers make sure they are worth the effort. On buses and most other forms of transporation they must be folded and kept out of the aisles when in motion. Of course, take your child out of the stroller before folding it (just a reminder).
