Dining Tips

*Make your reservations well before leaving for your vacation. How far ahead of time? This depends on where you are going to eat. Different restaurants are more popular than others. This last vacation we took we made our reservations 1 week before we left and we were able to get all of the times we requested. If you wait until your vacation begins their is a chance you will not be able to eat at some of the restaurants you were planning on. Be flexible with your times.

*If your coming to Walt Disney World with a package that includes dining plan you definitely need to plan ahead. We really enjoyed our vacation package with the dining plan. We make it worth our while. Make sure to eat at more expensive restaurants. Perhaps ones you never would have before. Also, take advantage of the fact that you each get an appetizer, entree and dessert. Many times we would not finish the dessert and would bring it back to our room and eat it later. At lunch when we would eat a counter service restaurant we would get a snack that we could carry along in our bag and have it later in the day. This worked great at the parks.

*Take advantage of lunch menus. Try to eat a late lunch (ie. 3:30-4pm). You can eat off of the lunch menu and save money. Many restaurants menus are very similiar to their dinner menus. Tony's Town Square in the Magic Kingdom had a very good lunch with much more reasonable prices for those on a tight budget.
*Want to avoid the crowds at lunch? Eat lunch early 10:30-11am or later 2-4pm. You will miss the busy lines and be able to enjoy a relaxing lunch.
*On a budget? At lunch order adults meals and share them. If you have a family of four you can feed them all for the cost of feeding 2. My mom wants a smaller meal. Therefore she orders off of the children's menu. She gets just the right amount of food and about half the cost.
*Need a break from the crowds? It is also relaxing to hop on the monorail and go to one of the resorts and have a relaxing lunch or romantic dinner.
